Barrister since 1991. In the year 1992 he founded a law firm under his name that gradually grew and since 2008 functions in the form of a legal entity.
JUDr. Michal Žižlavský is the leading partner of the law firm. He specialises in commercial law, corporate acquisitions in bankruptcy, real estate transactions, court-mediated restructuring of businesses, bankruptcy law and representation before courts of all instances. During his years of practice he worked for several years as a judge in the office of president of the senate. He gained wide-ranging experience from several hundred judicial proceedings as a judge, a barrister and trustee in bankruptcy. He represents well-known banks, industrial and commercial businesses, commercial franchises, hotel franchises, cooperative unions and other corporations.
He applies his knowledge of judicial process in insolvency proceedings. As the first expert of his kind in the Czech Republic he received a special licence from the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic allowing him to perform his function of a trustee in bankruptcy for large businesses, banks, financial institutes with a special regime, traders in securities, operators of settlement systems, investment instrument market organisers, investment funds and pension funds. As an official partner and statutory representative of a legal entity which actively functions as a trustee in bankruptcy he obtained unique experience from many corporate court-mediated restructurings under the new legislation.
JUDr. Michal Žižlavský is a member of the Government Legislative Council, he is a member of the board of the Czech Bar Association (ČAK), chairperson of the specialized sector of ČAK for bankruptcy law and chairperson of the Association of Insolvency Administrators.
